How it works
Cialis inhibits the formation of an enzyme that restricts the flow of blood in the body. This allows more blood to flow to the penis resulting in an erection.
Guidelines for usage
Follow the dosage instructions provided by your doctor or as mentioned in the instruction booklet/product label.
Always use only as prescribed. Never exceed the dosage.
Cialis is also available for daily usage in a low 5mg dosage. Some doctors also recommend breaking the pill into half and use 2.5 mg everyday.
The effect of the pilll lasts for up to 36 hours.
Cialis is most effective when taken 15 to 30 minutes before initiating sexual activity. However, it may differ depending on the person’s health.
Cialis may be used with or without food. But we recommend that you avoid high fat meals because it tends to interfere with the absorption of the medication and may delay its effects.

Missed Dose
Cialis is used as needed. It is not used according to a dosing schedule so you are unlikely to miss a dose.
How & where do I store Cialis?
The medicine label contains detailed instructions regarding safe storage of the medication. Most medicines are best stored at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Some medications may require to be refrigerated. Please check the product label.
Keep it away from the reach of children. Ensure that it is not exposed to direct sunlight or moisture.
Ask your pharmacist about safely disposing off medication that is past expiry date.

You have blood cell disorders like sickle cell anaemia
You are using Alpha Blockers
Using Alcohol
Cialis is known to cause drowsiness or dizziness. Your vision may be blurred and your judgement affected if you consume alcohol with this medication. So, avoid using alcohol while using Cialis.
These effects may also get aggravated due to hot weather or fever or severe exercise. So, be cautious when you stand up after a long time from a sitting or lying position. If you feel giddy then lie down immediately and seek medical help.
Possible Drug & Food Interactions
Certain prescription drugs or health supplements or even food items are known to interact with the effects of medications. Cialis is known to have possible interactions with the following medications.
• Hypertension or BPH drugs like alfuzosin (Uroxatral), doxazosin (Cardura), prazosin (Minipress), terazosin (Hytrin), tamsulosin (Flomax)
• Medicines used for treating cardiac conditions like diltiazem (Cardizem, Dilacor, Tiazac), nicardipine (Cardene), or verapamil (Calan, Covera, Isoptin, Verelan)
• A tuberculosis drug called isoniazid
• An antidepressant called nefazodone
• Antibiotics like clarithromycin (Biaxin), dalfopristin/quinupristin (Synercid), erythromycin (E.E.S., EryPed, Ery-Tab, Erythrocin, Pediazole), or telithromycin (Ketek)
• Antifungals like itraconazole (Sporanox), ketoconazole (Nizoral), miconazole (Oravig), or voriconazole (Vfend)
Additional Information
People with a history of weak cardiac health are at a risk while using Cialis. If you experience sudden nausea or dizziness after starting sexual activity then stop immediately and do not continue. Seek emergency medical help because it may be a heart attack.
If your doctor has prescribed laboratory tests then ensure that you do not miss out on them.
Although rare, Cialis has been known to cause sudden sudden loss of vision especially in people above the age of 50 and who have some type of diabetes. If you experience sudden vision loss, then seek emergency medical help.
Elderly people are more likely to experience side effects while using Cialis. If the side effects are bothersome, then seek medical help.
A painful erection lasting for more than 4 hours should be reported to the doctor immediately. It may cause permanent and irreversible damage.
Cialis does not:
Protect or prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases like HIV (The virus that causes AIDS)
Increase libido
Work as a birth control measure
