Levitra has a similar mode of action to other PDE5 inhibitors like Viagra and Cialis. It facilitates the easy flow of blood into penile chambers when the person is sexually stimulated.
Guidelines for usage
Follow the dosage instructions provided by your doctor or as mentioned in the instruction booklet/product label.
Always use only as prescribed. Never exceed the dosage.
The maximum recommended dosage is once in 24 hours.

Missed Dose

The medicine label contains detailed instructions regarding safe storage of the medication. Most medicines are best stored at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Some medications may require to be refrigerated. Please check the product label.
Keep it away from the reach of children. Ensure that it is not exposed to direct sunlight or moisture.
Ask your pharmacist about safely disposing off medication that is past expiry date.

You are on dialysis or have other kidney problems
You suffer from a condition called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION)
You have peyronie’s disease or any other penile deformity
You are using other similar drugs like Viagra
You have blood cell disorders
Using Alcohol
Levitra is known to cause drowsiness or dizziness. Your vision may be blurred and your judgement affected if you consume alcohol with this medication. So, avoid using alcohol while using Levitra.
These effects may also get aggravated due to hot weather or fever or severe exercise. So, be cautious when you stand up after a long time from a sitting or lying position. If you feel giddy then lie down immediately and seek medical help.
Possible Drug & Food Interactions
Certain prescription drugs or health supplements or even food items are known to interact with the effects of medications. Levitra is known to have possible interactions with the following medications.
Indinavir sulfate (Crixivan®) or ritonavir (Norvir®)
Nitrates in all forms
Itraconazole (such as Nizoral® or Sporanox®) or ketoconazole
Erythromycin
Alpha Blockers like Flomax® (tamsulosin HCl), Minipress® (prazosin HCl), Hytrin® (terazosin HCl), Cardura® (doxazosin mesylate), Uroxatral® (alfuzosin HCl
Additional Information
If you have weak cardiac health or have a known history of cardiac problems then using Levitra increases the risk of a heart attack. If you experience nausea or a tingling in the arm while using Levitra then contact a doctor immediately. Do not use Levitra or initiate sexual activity again.
If you experience an erection that is painful and lasts for more than normal time, then contact a doctor immediately. It could be Priapism a condition that may cause permanent damage to the penis if left untreated.
Levitra does not protect or prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases like HIV (The virus that causes AIDS)
